Hotels and places to stay in Waxahachie

Every hotel in town compared honestly, plus the B&Bs on Main Street, RV parks for long stays, budget options, and weekly furnished rentals for crews, nurses, and families between homes.

Plan my tripSee every event on your dates, from festivals and football to Christmas lights.

Waxahachie has a handful of chain hotels by the civic center and on US-287, two bed and breakfasts in the historic West End, two well-reviewed RV parks, a row of budget motels on I-35E, and furnished rentals for anyone staying a week or more. We compared all of them, honestly, including where our own tiny home fits and where it doesn't.

Ratings are Google's, and we checked pet rules and pools on each hotel's listings on October 12, 2026. Policies change, so confirm when you book.

Vacation rentals and our tiny home

Waxahachie has other vacation rentals on Airbnb and VRBO. Ours is The Waxahachie Tiny Home, a family-run rental on 1,800 acres of farmland about 8 minutes from the courthouse square. We live on the property, and you can book it directly with us.

A hotel roomThe tiny home
SpaceOne roomA whole house of about 400 square feet, with a loft
Sleeps2 to 4 per roomUp to 7, best for 2 to 4
KitchenA microwave, maybe a kitchenetteA full kitchen with stainless appliances

PetsSome hotels, with feesWelcome with approval and a small pet fee

The honest trade-offs: it's a tiny home, so a full crew of 7 is tight. It's in the country on farm roads, so you'll drive to everything. And a freight train runs on the far line now and then.

Waxahachie hotels compared

Most of the hotels sit in two clusters: by the Waxahachie Civic Center, and near the big stores on N. Hwy 77 and US-287. All of them are about 10 minutes or less from the tiny home.

Extended stay in Waxahachie

Here's the honest picture for extended stays in town:

  • Residence Inn is the only extended-stay brand hotel we found in town, and the one to try if you want an extended stay with a kitchen and parking. We didn't find an Extended Stay America, WoodSpring, or Studio 6 in Waxahachie on Google.
  • Ask any hotel's front desk about a weekly rate, and ask about guest laundry, too.
  • For two weeks or more, a furnished rental often makes more sense: a full kitchen cuts food costs, a washer and dryer saves the laundromat runs, and you get real rooms instead of one.
  • On per diem? For federal fiscal year 2027 (October 2026 to September 2027), Waxahachie uses the GSA standard rate: $113 a night for lodging and $68 a day for meals and incidentals.

Both of Waxahachie's top-rated B&Bs sit across the street from each other on W. Main St. in the West End Historic District, west of the courthouse square.

Weekly and short-term stays

Need a furnished place for a week or a month? Here's how booking the tiny home works:

  • Book a week, two weeks, or a month: up to 28 nights per booking, then book the next stretch if the dates are open.
  • Who stays: work crews and contractors, traveling professionals, travel nurses and medical travelers, families visiting a hospital, people house hunting, wedding parties, and weekend visitors.
  • Longer than 28 nights: stays of 30 days or more are only for families with written temporary-housing approval from their insurance company. See our insurance temporary housing guide.
  • House rules: up to 7 overnight guests, all on the booking, no parties or outside visitors, and quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Send your dates through our booking form, or check availability on VRBO or Airbnb.

Hotels with truck and trailer parking

Most hotels around here don't post their trailer rules online, so check before you book:

  • Call the front desk with your total length and ask where you can park overnight, and whether the lot is gated or lit.
  • Quality Inn Ennis (4.6) is the one nearby hotel where a reviewer mentions truck parking for tractor trailers out back, about 20 minutes away.
  • Semi drivers: the truck stops on I-35E in Red Oak and Waxahachie are listed in our crew housing guide; reviewers mention paid overnight semi parking at the Red Oak Pilot.
  • Work trucks, flatbeds, and equipment trailers: our tiny home has room with approval. Send the length and width of each and we confirm it fits before you book.

For camping by the water, the Corps of Engineers parks on Bardwell Lake have water and electric campsites; see our lakes guide.

Cheap and affordable places to stay

The cheapest rooms in Waxahachie are the budget motels along I-35E, but every one we found was rated under 4 stars on Google: Super 8 and Texas Inn at 3.8, Motel 6 at 3.2, Executive Inn at 2.8, and Dallas Inn at 2.6. If price is the deciding factor, read the newest reviews before you book.

A few ways to keep a Waxahachie stay affordable:

  • Split a house. For a crew of 3 or 4, price one furnished rental against three or four hotel rooms.
  • Cook. A full kitchen and the H-E-B about 8 minutes away go a long way on per diem.
  • Avoid the big weekends. Scarborough Saturdays in April and May, NHRA week in mid-October, the Christmas Tour of Homes, and July 3 and 4 fill up first.
  • Book direct when you can. Many rentals, ours included, can skip some of the booking-site fees.

Looking for cheap rent or a long-term rental?

If you need a room or an apartment for the long term, you need a lease, not a vacation stay. We only host short stays, so we're not the right fit for that, but here's where to start:

  • Apartments and houses for rent: the big listing sites and local property managers cover most Waxahachie leases.
  • Income-based housing: the Waxahachie Housing Authority, 208 N. Patrick St., (972) 937-5730, runs public housing and Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. Call for current waitlists.
  • Moving to town and need a place while you look? Our moving to Waxahachie guide covers neighborhoods, schools, and short stays while you house hunt.

Good to know: tips for booking a stay in Waxahachie

  • Book early for event weekends: Scarborough runs April 10 to May 31, 2027, and the NHRA FallNationals are October 13 to 17, 2027.
  • Wedding parties: ask the civic center hotels about a room block before you send invitations.
  • Hauling a trailer? Call the hotel and ask where you can park it before you book. Rentals with land are easier.
  • Confirm pet fees in writing, since they change and differ by room type.
